Recruitment Rules

 

Recruitment to the Central Public Works Department is done at different levels on the basis  of well defined and clear recruitment rules which have been framed as  per policy guidelines of the Government of India and have been approved by the competent authority.

Recruitment for engineering, architectural or horticulture disciplines takes place  at two levels.First is at the Junior Time Scale level.This is done  through the  Union Public Service Commission through open competitive examinations or through interviews.The second level of recruitment is for group C posts.This is done through examinations conducted by the Staff Selection Commission on behalf of CPWD.

Recruitment for the support staff is done at regional level after taking clearance from the central office.
The recruitment Rules for each post are periodically reviewed and revised as per  extant guidelines of the Department of Admnistrative Reforms and Public Grievances.
