BRIEF NOTE ON WORKS UNDER NEW DELHI ZONE-I

I - New Delhi Zone -I looks after maintenance and minor works pertaining to all the three discipline of Civil ,Electrical and Horticulture of prestigious and and sensitive buildings of Rashtripati Bhawan Estate ,Vice President House ,Prime Minister’s Office and residences of Ministers and Members of Parliament ,Judges of Suprime court of Delhi ,Buildings of Hyderabad House ,North & South Block ,Nirman Bhawan , Krishi Bhawan ,Vayu Bhawan ,Vigyan Bhawan Complex ,Nation Museum ,Nation Archives as well as Gandhi Smriti,Teen Murthi House ,Indira Gandhi Memorial are also looked after by this zone

II. This zone is also doing the construction work of

(a) Office for National Advisory Council at 2, Motilal Nehru Marg for the Chairperson ,Smt sonia Gandhi

(b) 26 Special Type flats with 52 Servant Qrs in a 9 Storeed blocked for Rajya Sabha MPs. The construction work is in progress and is likely to be completed by October,2004 .

(c) the work of construction of Phase-III of National Museum Building for which estimate costing Rs 33 crores bas been sent and Construction of Videsh Bhawan for Ministry of External Affairs, costing Rs.150 crores, which is in preliminary stage of planning is also under this Zone.

III-One of the important activities which is handled by this Zone is that of making arrangements for Republic Day Parade held on Rajpath every every year.

IV-The work Re-development of Bungalow in LBZ for which proposal has been sent to Ministry in May, 2003 and re-development of President Estate for which Proposal is being prepared by the Chief Architect is under this Zone.

V- The total work load in financial terms for this Zone is Rs.303 crores for 2004-05.
